The Supply Chain Manager/Senior Buyer will report to the President at a small, well-established and growing privately-held precision sheet metal fabrication company. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of demonstrated success in developing and implementing an inventory reduction strategy, expertise in the packing industry category, commodity management experience, and have working knowledge of the sheet metal and fabrication processes. Candidates must be available to travel to a Chippewa Falls location twice a week until processes are set up to reduce this travel need. This is an exceptional individual contributor role which represents a chance to make a visible positive impact at a small manufacturing company. Your challenges are to reduce costs, provide an efficient cash flow, set up a Just-In-Time inventory process with suppliers, leverage buying power of two facilities, develop supplier partnerships, and minimize supply shortages.
|Duties:||Function Specific Activities:|
•Influence suppliers’ manufacturing processes, technology decisions and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging the volume of the company.
•Devises processes with vendors to optimally meet company service requirements while minimizing company inventory investment.
•Renegotiate, renew and discontinue supplier contracts.
•Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit emerging opportunities that benefit the company.
•Develop a negotiation strategy that delivers against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers.
•Implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
•Participates in vendor qualifications and assures that Company remains compliant with ISO.
•Conducts quarterly performance reviews with vendors.
